Keyboard Festival

About 4-5 years ago my students participated in the Yamaha Clavinova Festival. It was a fun event for family and friends and students really enjoyed participating, but sadly a couple years later the Yamaha piano store in our area closed down.  So a few years back I decided I wanted to keep the fun spirit that the Yamaha Clavinova Festival brought to students and Keyboard Festival was born.   With the same idea of the Clavinova festival, my students play with background music on the YPG-625 Yamaha keyboard that I have in my studio.  Each student receives and wears their Keyboard Festival t-shirt and we celebrate music together.

If you have the opportunity for your students to participate in Clavinova Festival, take it!  They will love it!  But if you don’t, Keyboard Festival can be a great option for your studio!

Here are some pictures from Keyboard Festival that was held a few weeks ago on March 5th…

The awesome eighth note cake balls you’ll see in the picture slideshow were made by my creative friend.  You can see a tutorial on how she did it all on her blog:  The Sewer, The Caker, The CopyCat Maker

  1. I really like your decorations. Can you tell me how the “stand-up” section was made? Would you mind if I copied your idea? I am guessing the notes are like cookies on a stick is that right?

  2. Hi Linda, They are actually cake pops. My friend, Vanessa made both the cake pops and stand. If you haven’t already, be sure to visit the link I gave (under the slideshow- The Sewer The Caker The Copycat Maker) in the post on how she did it. She is selling the stands if you are interested. You can just contact her directly from her blog. If you can’t find the contact info let me know. The cool thing is you can reuse it with suckers, etc…
